Raspberry Pi: small file missing in 5.9.11?

After unpacking/installing qtVlm 5.9.11 on a Raspberry Pi, I could not put a shortcut on the desktop. The file qtVlm.desktop seems to be missing.

I know and I have to edit that qtVlm.desktop file with the path of qtVlm. But hte file is not there . . .

I just checked and the file is in the archive qtVlm-5.9.11-rpi.tar.gz, so there is no reason it would be missing for you. Maybe you are trying via a file explorer and the file is hidden? Can you please try with a console?

I was confused, the file is there but without visible .desktop extension in the name. I had the full name with extension in a previous version installation, hence my search. . .
