Cannot load qtVlm on Pi 3b+ was created by Shayne
Hi Guys,
I am having trouble getting qtvlm to run on my RasPi 3b+. I have just installed the latest Pi OS -
Raspberry Pi OS with desktop,
64 bit, Kernel version: 5.10,
Debian version: 11 (bullseye)
Then I have placed the extracted qtVlm-5.10-10-64b in the location /home/pi.
With the terminal command I can find the folder when I run /home/pi/qtVm
then when I try to run it with the command ./qtVlm or ./qtVlm -platform xcb
I get the message permission denied, I changed the permissions on the pi folder to every one but still get permission denied.
What am I doing wrong? I am new to this so learning on the job a bit as well.
This is a fantastic program that I have been using on the PC and would love to have it on the Pi now.
Cheers, Shayne

- ls -la ~/ | grep qtvlm
- ls -la ~/ | grep qtVlm
- ./qtvlm

Hi Oxygen77,
Thanks for the reply. This is what was returned
- whoami = pi
- pwd = /home/pi
- ls -la ~/ | grep qtvlm = nothing returned
- ls -la ~/ | grep qtVlm = drwxr-xr-x 13 pi pi 4096 Feb 17 15:17 qtVlm (qtVlm is in red)
- ./qtvlm = bash: ./qtvlm: no such file or directory
- ./qtvlm = bash: ./qtvlm: is a directory
Cheers, Shayne

For the last one could you redo by going into qtVlm directory?
So go in qtVlm directory
And do a ./qtVlm
Also could you do their: ls -l

Hi oxygen77,
Sorry the last line in my reply should have had the capital V, it was late at night and I was a little tired from wingfoiling all day. It should have read,
- ./qtVlm = bash: ./qtVlm: is a directory
the ls -l command returned the following
total 40
drwxrwxrwx 2 pi pi 4096 Jan 28 03:09 Bookshelf
drwxrwxrwx 2 pi pi 4096 Feb 16 11:50 Desktop
drwxrwxrwx 2 pi pi 4096 Jan 28 03:22 Documents
drwxrwxrwx 2 pi pi 4096 Jan 28 03:22 Downloads
drwxrwxrwx 2 pi pi 4096 Jan 28 03:22 Music
drwxrwxrwx 2 pi pi 4096 Jan 28 03:22 Pictures
drwxrwxrwx 2 pi pi 4096 Jan 28 03:22 Public
drwxr-xr-x 13 pi pi 4096 Feb 17 15:17 qtVlm
drwxrwxrwx 2 pi pi 4096 Jan 28 03:22 Templates
drwxrwxrwx 2 pi pi 4096 Jan 28 03:22 Videos
The line with the qtVlm looks different from from all the others. I am certainly not a programming type person but is it possible this could have something to do with it?
Cheers Shayne
