Hi all,
al lthe topics on this subforum are quite old, is the companion app still maintained?
I just bought a TicWatch Pro3 with wear os.
Qtvlm is running on macOS 12.1 in simulation mode
I've tried all the troubleshooting tips in the guide, no matter if over wifi or BT, i don't manage to connect the watch and the icons stay red all the time.
Am I missing something obvious (like not working anymore on wear os etc)?
thanks

Hi,
Companion is still maintained, no worries.
BT connections can be a bit tricky, much easier is to connect via WIFI
Make sure both the PC and the watch are connected on the same WIFI/routeur. For instance you must be able to ping the watch from the PC.

hi philippe,
The point is that I would like to use it paired with a tablet on the boat.
WiFi is not a great solution for that for several reasons like the fact that you need to have a wifi AP on the boat, power it, not to mention the power consumption and battery life!
My TicWatch's battery under wifi lasts nothing.
In the end I didn't manage to make it work with my Macbook but it did work with my Kindle Fire tablet where I have the app installed as the server.
All in BT, however something quite annoying:
-On the tablet, every so often it was telling me Qtvlsm wants to grant permission for BT visibility for 300sec.
-On the ticwatch it took minutes before the icons turned green from red and several times I had to click "approve" on getting discovered.
not sure if this can be improved but again, BT is the only viable option for battery saving.

Hi,
I have been working on this. Expect a new version with a improved BT management in a couple of days (plus the time for Google to validate it).
