I had set up barriers, a patway, two routes.
The application was open on the tablet.

At some point the Routage,Routes and Pathways functions appeared disabled in the menu.

I closed the application and reopened.

The barriers remained, but the pathway and routes are deleted.
Only some POIs (?) appear as in the attached figure.

I have never seen such a case, but to my understanding it seems that at one point when you relaunch qtVlm your complete license was not recognized by Google Play and therefore since routes etc are only with complete version you lost them.
Only thing I can suggest if that occurs again is to make sure to do "Quit without saving", in order not to save the empty route situation, then restart your device.

This is the second time this has happened to me.

App was open, route options etc disappeared when app was running, not on a new app restart.

Maybe the tablet had gone on standby before.

I think it is It happens when I have the APP open, WI-FI is active and connected to a network but no Internet access is available.

Does the app test the license at intervals ?

What happens if I use the app offline (for example during a regatta) ?

Not the app does not check at intervals, only at startup.
The check is made by querying Google Playstore which has a cache of all your purchases and does not need Internet, so the check should be OK with Internet or not.
If you change user in Google playstore since the new user will not be the one that did the purchase it will do exactly that.
Apart from that I would suggest to check if your Google Playstore app is up-to-date, and eventually in Android settings to clear all cache and data for Google Playstore and restart your device.
